Cross-country skiing trails in the Dolomites region Seiser Alm
At an altitude of between 1,800 and 2,200 metres, cross-country skiers can expect excellent snow conditions thanks to the east-west orientation. The best place to try cross-country skiing for the first time is on the Ritsch trail and the practice trail. The Panorama trail is one of the more challenging circular trails on the Seiser Alm and offers truly stunning scenery with views of the Langkofel, Plattkofel and Schlern mountains.
The longest and most difficult trail on the Seiser Alm is the Joch trail. Starting from the Ritsch cross-country skiing centre, it leads across wide alpine meadows and climbs steeply up to the mountain station of the Panorama chairlift. Numerous loops take you across the Ladinser Moos, on towards Joch and Spitzbühl and past the Laurinhütte back to Ritsch. The impressive panorama of the nearby Dolomite peaks of Langkofel, Plattkofel, Rosszähne and Schlern makes up for the physical exertion.
