Avalanche-safe routes include the wooded Hofschoberberg or the classic alpine tour Hochkarfelderkopf. If you want to go higher, climb the Fritzerkogel or the Eiskogel in the Tennengebirge - both with magnificent deep snow descents.
The Gosaukamm - known as the "Salzburg Dolomites" due to its steep, jagged rocks - also inspires with classics such as the leisurely ascent to the Kampl at the foot of the Bischofsmütze or the Strichkogel tour including an incredible panorama. If you still haven't had enough, head straight up to the steep cirque of the Stuhllochscharte or via the steep gully to the Wasserkarkogel.
