Your trail through the tranquil Walser winter landscape

With the Steinbock, Schwenden and Schwarzwasser trails, the Kleinwalsertal offers three routes, each with its own distinct character. The Steinbock trail ( 15 km classic and 9 km skating) runs from Mittelberg to Baad and, with its practice area, is also ideal for beginners. On the Schwendeloipe in Riezlern (12 km, classic and skating), challenging sections are combined with sunny panoramic views and spacious practice loops for both classic and skating styles.

Things get more challenging on the Schwarzwasser trail: with up to 360 metres of elevation gain and 17 km of classic-style skiing, it is the most demanding route in the valley. The view of the Ifen and Widderstein is well worth the effort. Best of all: guests can use the entire network of cross-country trails free of charge. And in January, the Kleinwalsertal is all about Nordic sports with the “Nordic the Valley” festival – featuring group leisurely tours, technique training sessions, a moonlight run and much more.

Which cross-country ski trail suits my skiing style?

Where should I stay for a cross-country skiing holiday in the Kleinwalsertal?
