Winter Olympics 2026
A valley characterised by a passion for biathlon.

Winter Olympics 2026
The traditional biathlon destination of Antholz is one of the venues for the 2026 Winter Olympics. Nestled in the imposing mountain landscape of South Tyrol, the region not only offers a spectacular natural backdrop, but also a state-of-the-art arena that creates the perfect setting for exciting Olympic competitions. When the world's best biathletes compete for gold, fans from all over the world can look forward to emotional, unforgettable moments.
The biathlon stadium - the Südtirol Arena Alto Adige - is one of the most important centres of international winter sports. It has hosted the Biathlon World Championships six times (1975, 1976, 1983, 1994, 2007 and 2020) and has been a permanent fixture of the annual IBU Biathlon World Cup since 1978.
But Antholz is not only a magnet during the competitions: The idyllic Antholz Valley delights winter sports enthusiasts with a network of over 60 kilometres of trails that offer ideal conditions for cross-country skiers. Even in the summer months, the region remains a training hotspot - whether on roller skis, during altitude training or in the midst of alpine tranquillity.
