Swap the ski lift clamps for climbing skins, experience the deep silence of the still mountains and leave your own trail through the soft, powdery snow. The ski touring week at Pension Widmann is all about learning how to travel safely in open terrain and putting that knowledge into practice straight away on the tour.

The programme

Day 1 – Basic Avalanche Course
Theoretical introduction to avalanche safety and practical avalanche transceiver search.

Day 2 – Advanced ski touring course
Tour planning, assessing avalanche risk and laying an ascent track

Day 3 – Group ski tour
What you’ve learnt will be put into practice on a group ski tour.

What to bring: the fitness to cover 900 metres of elevation gain, ski touring equipment and provisions

Winter adventures included

Even outside the ski touring week, Pension Widmann offers additional mountain experiences throughout the winter: once a week, a guided ski tour with a local mountain guide takes place – free of charge. There is also supervised cross-country skiing once a week.

For a relaxing break before and after the tours, a small wellness area and a ski room with a boot dryer are available. Packed lunches and a laundry service are available on request for an additional charge.
