Change your perspective

Change your perspective, cross borders and discover places that you can only reach using your own muscle strength: the “World of Mountains & Lakes” in the Nassfeld-Pressegger Lake, Lesach Valley and Weissensee region offers refreshing new opportunities and perspectives.

Around 80 kilometres of cross-country ski trails take you through the Carinthian Nassfeld-Pressegger Lake region; the southern Gail & Gitsch Valley shows its northern side in winter. It takes you up to 1,500 metres – and beyond the Italian border.

In the neighbouring Kötschach-Mauthen, you can glide through the impressive mountain world of the Carnic and Gailtal Alps and discover Europe’s most natural valley in the Lesach Valley. Hidden here you’ll find one of the most beautiful, snow-covered cross-country ski trails south of the Alps: the border region trail. It’s also not far to the Weissensee, the largest and most resistant natural ice surface in Europe. Mist-free and sun-drenched, the frozen lake at 930 metres is a dream area for all ice skaters and cross-country skiers.
