Cross-country skiing in the region of superlatives

Classic or skating – whatever you prefer. The Kaiserwinkl region in Tyrol surprises with superlatives. A first-class network of cross-country ski trails spreads across the four towns of Kössen, Walchsee, Schwendt and Rettenschöss in Tyrol’s hidden treasure chamber. Or to put it better: Austria’s largest network of cross-country ski trails, which has been awarded the seal of quality by the state of Tyrol.

An impressive 253.5 km are waiting to be explored between the Wilder and Zahmer Kaiser — 127.5 km of classic style tracks and 126 km of skating style tracks. Cross-country lovers of all ability levels will find their favourite cross-country ski trails here and a great many opportunities. One of the highlights is the Kaiserwinkl Loipe, which covers 21.5 km through the entire region. And now we’ve come to the superlatives and winners’ rostrum – because the Kaiserwinkl is at the top of the popularity scale among cross-country skiers in Europe.

That must also be due to the warm Tyrolean hospitality and the wonderful Tyrolean delicacies! A hearty Grias-di! and a portion of hot Kössner cheese dumplings made from traditional alpine cheese warm the body & soul in an instant. With renewed energy, you can set off again on the freshly prepared Kaiserwinkl cross-country ski trails – free of charge.

Cross-country seal of approval – committed to quality

The guidelines are strict, the requirements high and yet: the Kaiserwinkl region has once again been awarded the “Tyrolean cross-country seal of approval”.

A confirmation of the high quality standards in the region that offers, among other things, guaranteed snow, an extensive network of cross-country ski trails, various difficulty levels, markings for easy orientation and safety and environmental measures. For cross-country skiers this means: perfect conditions for an exciting cross-country skiing holiday!
