With its 14 small side valleys and numerous mountain summits up to almost 3,000 m, the Großarl Valley is a true touring gem. Next to the Kreuzkogel, the most famous skiing mountain in the Großarl Valley-Dorfgastein / Ski amadé region, you’ll find numerous secluded ski touring summits and dreamy pastures waiting to be discovered. Such as its namesake the Kreuzkogel and the Kreuzeck – two top touring mountains in the cosy Bergsteigerdorf® Hüttschlag mountaineering village. The Penkkopf, Filzmooshörndl or Loosbühel in the Großarl Ellmau valley are worthwhile touring destinations. In spring, be enticed by the touring mountains in the bottom of the valley such as the Mandlkogel, Schöderhorn and Keeskogel – the highest mountain in the valley with a height of 2,884 m.
