Ski touring holiday in the Großarl Valley
Untouched, unspoilt and covered in deep snow. Both beginners and regulars will discover the quiet beauty of the Salzburg high valley at the edge of the Upper Tauern National Park. Escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life and lose yourself in the intact nature and endless pastures. The 14 small side valleys provide endless possibilities for isolated ski touring summits and free rides, while the ski slopes in Großarl offer safe ascent tracks to the sun terraces of the cosy ski chalets.
Are you a regular and looking for a particular challenge? In the Großarl Valley you’ll find the entire ski touring palette: from gentle 6 km tours over two hours to challenging 15 km marches that last 6 hours. Whatever your heart desires in terms of touring and deep snow – you’ll find what you’re looking for here! And your heart will do somersaults when you ski on untouched snow slopes!
Safety is generally very important in the Großarl Valley ski touring region: you’ll find modern ORTOVOX safety checkpoints at all the important tour starting points. And if you would prefer to explore the region with an experienced, local mountain guide, you’ll be in the best hands on guided tours with the BERG-GESUND association. Participation in the guided tours is free for all guests of the round 110 BERG-GESUND partners – a great way to familiarise yourself with the touring region. You’ll find safety sets and top ski touring equipment in the local shops.
TIP: You’ll find the “Best of ski tours @Großarl Valley” in the practical tour guide, which contains the 17 most popular tours in Großarl and the Bergsteigerdorf® Hüttschlag mountaineering village – also available as an online version for when you’re on the go!
