In winter, Zell am See-Kaprun in Salzburger Land turns into a white glittering cross-country skiing and ski touring paradise. The most beautiful cross-country ski tracks and ski touring routes of all levels of difficulty meander through the region - from the valley bottom uphill to almost 3,000 metres above sea level.
The Zell am See - Kaprun region is dominated by Lake Zell, the Schmittenhöhe - the local mountain of Zell - and the more than 3,000 metres high Kitzsteinhorn. In winter, the landscape is covered in a thick blanket of snow or ice, offering perfect conditions for all kinds of winter sports.
